ماذا يعنى مصطلح الهوية الجندرية؟

يشير مصطلح الهوية الجندرية وفقًا لمنظمة الصحة العالمية إلى الخبرة الداخلية والفردية التى يشعر بها كل فرد بعمق، والتى قد تتوافق أو لا تتوافق مع الجنس المحدد عند الولادة، بما فى ذلك الإحساس الشخصي بالجسد (والذي قد يتضمن إذا تم اختياره بحرية، تعديل المظهر الجسدي، أو طبيعته من خلال الوسائل الطبية أو الجراحية أو غيرها) والتعبيرات الأخرى عن الجنس بما فى ذلك الملبس والكلام والسلوك.

فالهوية الجندرية هى طيف واسع بما يعنى أن الهوية الجندرية للفرد لا تقتصر بالضرورة على هوية ذكورية تماماً أو أنثوية تماماً، وعندما تختلف الهوية الجندرية للفرد عن الجنس المحدد له عند الولادة، فإنه عادة ما يعتبر عابراً جنسياً، أو سائلاً بين الجنسين.

What is meant by the term “Gender Identity”?

According to the World Health Organization, the term gender identity refers to the deeply felt inner and individual experience of each individual, which may or may not correspond to the sex assigned at birth, including the subjective sense of the body (which, if freely chosen, may include the modification of physical appearance, or its nature through medical, surgical, or other means) and other expressions of gender, including clothing, speech, and behavior.

Gender identity is a broad spectrum, which means that an individual’s gender identity is not necessarily limited to a completely masculine or completely feminine identity, and when an individual’s gender identity differs from the sex assigned to him/her at birth, he/she is usually considered transgender, or something between the two sexes.
